Turtle Christmas Globe

Hi everyone,

We are having really hot weather here so I haven't been going out unless I have to. I take the dog for a walk around 8:30 in the evening and it is so enjoyable to walk then.

I went to an estate sale a month or so ago and picked up some cotman and acadmey water color tubes. Some didn't have a lot in it but I was lucky enough that they just gave them to me.
there was a lot in a shoe container. I have just gotten around to putting them in a pallet, I made up a chart so I could see what the colors look like when put on watercolor paper. I really like the vibrancy of the colors. I also got quite a large sunflower stamp for $.50. I think I did alright and I was very pleased with them.

I decided to make a card tonight and used this cute Lacy Sunshine image called Shelly C Turtle. She is just so cute. It also comes with the 3D items if you want to use them. I Printed the image onto neenah cs and decided to use watercolors. I taped the image down good to keep it from warping too much. I used a Heidi Swapp stencil to put all the little dots in around the turtle. I had cut out the candy cane and the holly berries but I lost the berries so I only popped up the candy cane with foam dots. I then used the sizzix circle dies and cut out the image. I then though it would be cute if I made it look like a globe card. I cut two more larger circles and scored one .5 inches and glued the two together. I found a really cute DSP to put behind my front piece from DCWV painted petals stack. I added sequins for more sparke. I also used a lot of wink of stella on the image. It is a Christmas card so we need lots of glitter. I made a double bow using CTMH seam binding ribbon. To make the globe base on the bottom I used a MS border punch and glued it to the bottom. It didn't stand well being round so I trimmed off the a piece on the bottom to straighten it. I didn't cut it right and it was wonky. So I took another piece of the border punch and glued it over the first one. It just gives it a lacier look. I hope I have given you some inspiration to come up with some new ideas.

I will enter this card into these challenges.
